Every little deed count…

September 5th marks the International Day of Charity, and it was established by the UN with the objective of sensitizing and mobilizing people, NGOs, and stakeholders all around the world to help others through volunteer and philanthropic activities.

Charity

As a socially conscious company, we are dedicated to empowering the people of Myanmar not only through our world-class digital products and services but also by offering more of everything. So how does ATOM pledge to do this?

Since ATOM’s inception, we have promised to contribute 3 billion kyats towards corporate social responsibility projects till the end of 2023. The initiative aims to unlock new opportunities while directly delivering a positive impact on the Myanmar community. Among these 3 billion kyats, 1 billion will be allocated to provide quality facilities and infrastructure to monastic and orphan schools across the country. It is set to benefit a minimum of 5,000 children and youth with a better educational environment.

To kick it off, ATOM recently provided the before mentioned quality facilities and infrastructure to two monastic and orphanage schools; YGW Taikkyi monastic school in Taikkyi township and Dhammika Rama in Thanlyin township. The facilities and infrastructure we want to contribute to this initiative will vary according to the needs of the specific monastic and orphanage communities.

“Charity” doesn’t always need to be in the form of a donation, but it can also include any act of kindness to benefit the community. Thus, we recently announced an innovative 1-year Technology Trainee Program (TTP) to level up the skills and abilities of Myanmar youth in IT and tech backgrounds. After completion, outstanding participants may get the chance to become full-time employees at ATOM. Many more impactful projects will be organized by ATOM, and the company will continue to support the Myanmar community.

Every little deed counts and just like Mother Teresa used to say, “Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time, and always start with the person nearest you.” Therefore, may this International Day of Charity be a gentle reminder for everyone to be more giving today and every day.

Always stay kind and be supportive of each other.
