Yangon, Myanmar, 24th October 2025 – ATOM, Myanmar’s leading 4.5G VoLTE telecom provider, proudly announces the major milestone in its sustainability journey with the achievement of the internationally recognized ISO 14001:2015 certification for Head Office Management for Telecom Operations. This accomplishment reinforces ATOM’s position as a sustainability-driven organization, dedicated to reducing its environmental risks and creating a greener, more resilient future for Myanmar.
ISO 14001:2015 is a globally recognized standard that provides a framework for an effective Environmental Management System (EMS). Achieving this certification underscores our dedication to managing environmental impacts, reducing risks, and continuously enhancing sustainability throughout our operations.
This certification demonstrates months of dedicated preparation and collaboration across the organization. From forming the EMS Core Team and certifying the internal audit team through training to preparing for the final audit, every step reflected the collective effort, discipline, and teamwork of all employees who contributed to the final audit.

Achieving EMS certification marks a major milestone in our journey to make lasting, positive impact within our organization, across our industry, and for the communities we serve.”
As part of its EMS adoption, ATOM continues to invest in solar capacity, renewable energy, sustainable telecom infrastructure and efficient resource management. ATOM has upgraded its solar panels infrastructure and is in the process of developing a solar farm, targeting a reduction of carbon emissions by 1,000 tons GHG (greenhouse gas) per year and has donated 1000 of trees for planting with an investment of 15.7 million MMK, on the Five acres of land in the Lower Sin Thay Reserved Forest Area in Takkone, Naypyidaw. To enhance resource efficiency, ATOM has set measurable targets including a reduction in energy and water consumption, paper use and waste alongside adopting eco-friendly cleaning products. Committed to full EMS compliance, ATOM also conducts regular employee awareness sessions, reflecting a holistic approach that balances operational efficiency, employee engagement, and long-term sustainability.
