At ATOM, our connection to the people of Myanmar goes beyond providing telecommunications services. We are deeply invested in the well-being of our communities, especially during times of crisis. As a company deeply rooted in Myanmar, we feel a profound sense of responsibility to help people and communities in the country who are in need.

Our corporate ethos is centred on making a positive impact, and in 2024, our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has only grown stronger. Under the banner of “ATOM WITH THE HEART,” we have touched more lives, provided critical support, and helped Myanmar’s most vulnerable communities with compassion and purpose.

As of November 2024, ATOM has contributed nearly MMK 5 billion to various initiatives, positively impacting over 700,000 individuals across Myanmar. We’re proud to share the significant milestones we’ve achieved this year, in line with our CSR pillars of Advancing Life & Education, Digitalisation of Education & Health, and Humanitarian Care & Support.

Advancing Life & Education:

Our belief in the power of education as a tool for community empowerment has guided several of our initiatives in 2024. In January 2024, ATOM donated over MMK 90 million worth of essential equipment and furniture to Madrasah Arabia Anwarul-Uloom Boys and Girls Boarding School, ensuring that students have the tools and environment they need to succeed.

Additionally, we contributed MMK 150 million towards constructing a new nursery school building at Mingalar Taik Kyaung Monastic School in Twantay Township, Yangon Region, completed in April 2024. This new facility now serves over 500 children, providing a nurturing space for early education in the community.

Digitalisation of Education & Health

In line with our focus on digitalisation, ATOM has been offering telemedicine services to our customers. In partnership with Trust Oo Co., Ltd., our 24/7 free telemedicine hotline (7887) has provided over 200,000 individuals with unlimited access to healthcare consultations. Since its inception in October 2022, we have invested over MMK 200 million into this initiative, which remains a lifeline for those in need of immediate medical advice, particularly in rural and underserved areas. In May 2024, we launched an awareness campaign to promote this vital service, ensuring that more people across Myanmar can access the free healthcare support.

Humanitarian Care & Support

This year, Myanmar has faced unprecedented challenges due to severe flooding, and ATOM has been at the forefront of relief efforts. In August 2024, we provided MMK 100 million worth of essential relief packages to more than 10,000 individuals across flood-affected areas in Yangon, Bago, and Hpa-An. Our support aimed to meet immediate needs, providing food, clean water, and essential supplies to families in distress.

Our commitment to flood relief did not stop there. In September 2024, ATOM announced a donation of MMK 1 billion to support flood relief and rehabilitation efforts. Our teams have been working closely with local organisations and authorities to ensure that the funds are distributed effectively and efficiently.

In addition to extending our free telemedicine service to those affected, we also launched our "Double the Donation with ATOM" programme, where customers can donate via SMS, and we’ll match every contribution to double the impact.

In times of crisis, staying connected with loved ones is essential. Since mid-September 2024, ATOM has provided free voice calls and SMS services to customers in the affected flood areas, ensuring that families remain in contact and have access to crucial emergency services. We remain committed to keeping Myanmar connected, no matter the circumstances.

Empowering Women in Sports: Supporting Women's Football

Beyond our CSR pillars, ATOM contributed MMK 200 million to support the development of women’s football through the Myanmar National League (MNL). This marks our second consecutive year contributing towards women’s football, to promote gender equality and empower women to pursue their passions.

Looking Ahead

With “ATOM WITH THE HEART,” we’re committed to doing more than just business. Our focus remains clear: to continue being a force for good in the lives of our customers and communities. We will continue to expand our CSR efforts, providing meaningful support where it is needed most. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient Myanmar – one that thrives on unity, compassion, and progress.
